About The ROC
The Resource and Opportunity Center, Inc. (ROC) is a place for hope. Hope for individuals and families to be free from poverty and dependence on government and outside assistance. Our goal is to look at the entire picture of one’s life and address all issues individually and as a whole in order to put together a plan of action for him/her to take. Individuals will ultimately be in charge of their own success and we will provide the necessary steps to get there as well as offering encouragement and support each step of the way. Each person who contacts The ROC will be met by a caring, compassionate person whose desire is to help, but not enable, who will look at his/her life circumstance, and not judge.
If immediate relief is needed, by means of food, utilities, etc, we will refer individuals to the proper organization for assistance. We are versed in governmental, non-profit and charitable agencies so we can direct and guide individuals as well as families to the proper agency to receive “temporary” assistance. However, the goal is to work with each person and/or family so that being in need or living a substandard existence is not everyday life. Individuals will be given tools to break the cycle of dependency and poverty.
Computers are available in the center for all aspects of job seeking – typing and printing resumes, searching for jobs, and applying on line. We can schedule mock interviews as well as assist in dressing appropriately for the interview and how to present themselves in a positive manner. Jobs and positions available will be posted as we receive notification. If life circumstances or specific situations have prohibited employment we will address those circumstances and options available. Always we will look for the gifts and talents given to each person by God and develop those talents to be used in a positive way.
We believe that every person is capable of transformation through our Savior, Jesus Christ. By building relationships with individuals our prayer is for God’s love to radiate through us and demonstrate the peace and joy that He offers. True and lasting transformation comes from a right relationship with Jesus. This relationship is introduced and built during the Sunday Night suppers. Following the Sunday evening meal is a time of fellowship and sharing. Individuals share stories and testimonies of what Jesus has done for them. Along with personal sharing, praise and worship music is also provided as we build relationships, offer support, and celebrate success.
The ROC is a faith based center guiding individuals and families to resources for enhancing life skills, while working along side to establish a solid plan of action so they may ultimately be in partnership with God to lead successful lives.

He will save them from cruel people who try to hurt them.
Their lives are very special to Him.

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Matthew 25:37-40
